Turkey on the Run

Written by Travis

The Turkey Run is off and running! Some of this has been confusing but here's the easy version.

If you can drop it off at Woodland Elementary at 9:00am this Thursday November 19th that would be great.

If you are not able to do that contact me and we'll make arrangements.  If you would email me back to inform me on how many turkeys you are donating that would be fantastic as well.  This will help us keep track.  Our goal is to provide 58 turkeys for Woodland.  I am so proud of our Renovo Community.   It is so amazing to work with people that see the vision of taking care of others in need!

What's Right in God's Eyes

Written by Travis

This week we continue our sermon series from the book of Ruth. Scott preaches from Ruth Chapter 3 and Ezekiel 16:8 to illustrate how Boaz demonstrates God's love to Ruth. In our brokenness and weakest of times Jesus comes to cover us and provide for us. Boaz fights to be Ruth's redeemer and in the same way Christ fights to be our redeemer.

We have attached a study guide you can download to further study this book and use in discussion with your AMC and we want to encourage everyone to read through the book of Ruth this week.

A Place For A Stranger Part 2

Written by Travis

This week we continue our sermon series from the book of Ruth. Preaching from Ruth 2:14-23, Jeremiah 29:11-14, Deuteronomy 4:29-31, and Leviticus 19:33-34 Jake teaches on understanding the heart of God's word. Often we can interpret the bible as a list of rules we must follow but thats not really at the heart of God's word. Do your actions align with the teaching and message of God? Have you made your life Gospel-centric?

We have attached a study guide you can download to further study this book and use in discussion with your AMC and we want to encourage everyone to read through the book of Ruth this week.

A Place For A Stranger

Written by Travis

This week we continue our sermon series from the book of Ruth. Preaching from Ruth 2:1-13, Deuteronomy 24:19-22, and Leviticus 19:33-34, Scott teaches on how we can sometimes find ourselves blinded by the events in our own lives. Just as in the story of Ruth, we find that God is bigger than us, and He is behind the scenes orchestrating events beyond our understanding. God can see the bigger picture of things that are happening and why they may be happening. When we place our faith in that knowledge we open ourselves up to be used in big ways. We can also draw parallels from the story of Ruth and her interaction with Boaz to where we are presently at Renovo. There are many stories of how we have been uniting to become Jesus to many people in our communities.

A Tragic Family

Written by Travis

This week we continue our sermon series from the book of Ruth. Preaching from Ruth 1:1-18, Scott teaches on the importance for all of us to understand the book of Ruth. When our culture, the media, our families, and the church all tell us that we are worthless; God tells us he loves us. We are His children and worth more than anything to Him. In the same way, the Church should be the gospel to those that find themselves in a situation like Ruth. Ruth faced more than her share of bad things and Scott also teaches about why God allows for bad things to happen to good people.

A Lawless Land

Written by Travis

We begin a new sermon series this week as Scott Christensen lays the foundation for the book of Ruth. The story of Ruth has many parallels to our culture today and is one of the most beautiful stories of redemption in the bible. Scott teaches about the year of jubilee and many other events leading up to the story of Ruth. Teaching from Leviticus 25:23-28, Matthew 11:28-30, Numbers 27:8-11, Deuteronomy 11:13-17, 25:5-10, and Judges 2:10-19, 21:25, we will find that Ruth lives in a land where the people have turned their back on God. Just as He does with us, God wants to see his people come back to him.
